Where the Close Rates Come From
Response time benchmarks are derived from the MIT Sloan Lead Response Management Study (Dr. James Oldroyd), which analyzed over 3.5 million lead interactions across industries. The study found that contacting a lead within 5 minutes increases conversion likelihood by 21× compared to a 30-minute delay — and that most businesses never hit that window.
Your close rate is mapped to your selected response time bracket. The 60SR close rate ceiling is further adjusted based on your lead sources — warm sources like referrals carry a higher natural conversion floor, while cold social and paid sources require the fastest response to reach maximum close rate.
